IS 96 receives $30K grant for parent engagement
Congratulations to IS 96 Seth Low in Brooklyn! The Department of Education has awarded the school a $30,000 grant to increase parent engagement by providing adult education classes to parents in their local neighborhood. A challenge at IS 96 is that the children and their families speak 26 different languages. The grant will help to bolster support for the parent community.
The CLS initiative has a number of goals one of which is to engage parents, provide programming for them and accommodate their needs. One of the ways in which CLS seeks to achieve that goal is to help parents develop skills that will help the entire family as well as engage parents in the school community and their children’s educations.
